What do backers ask us?
What is The Dam?
The Dam is the AI BEAVERS backer leaderboard. Every backer is drawn into this quarter's dam, and the more they give, the bigger their piece. The top 10, the Big Chewers, sit on top with their name and show their logo or photo in the high scores. Everyone else forms the base of the dam.
What do backers get?
Your name, link and message on the dam, and your logo or photo in the high scores if you make the Big Chewers. At every AI BEAVERS event in Hamburg we open with this board on screen, thank every backer and read the top 3 out loud. For a company, that means your brand in front of the room at every Hamburg event. The GOAT of each quarter stays in the archive for good.
Is backing the same as sponsoring?
No. The Dam is self-serve: any amount, a public ranking and a shout-out. Sponsoring is a partnership built with you, putting your brand in the room through the venue, food, banners or merch. See ai-beavers.com/sponsor.
How is the ranking decided?
By each backer's paid total for the calendar quarter in Hamburg time. Top-ups add up, monthly payments count in the quarter they are paid, and a tie goes to whoever reached that total first.
What are the GOAT and the Big Chewers?
The GOAT is number one: the backer with the highest total this quarter. The board shows how long they have been the GOAT and when it last changed hands, and at the end of the quarter they become the GOAT of that quarter in the archive. The Big Chewers are the top 10.
When do I appear on the dam?
Right away: your name, link and message go live as soon as your payment is recorded. A logo or photo shows after a quick check, usually within a day or two. We remove anything offensive or misleading, and anything with obviously offensive words waits for a person to look at it. You get an email when you are live, with a link to add a logo or photo or edit your details.
Can I back anonymously?
Yes. Anonymous backers still count toward the ranking and the records. They appear as Anonymous beaver, with no link, message or picture.
Can I get a refund?
No. Contributions are final and non-refundable. If a payment is disputed or turns out to be fraudulent, we take it off the dam.
Will you email me?
Only if you ask. We send one email when you are live on the dam. You can also opt in to an alert if someone takes the GOAT spot from you or you drop out of the Big Chewers, at most once every 14 days, and to a short recap at the end of each quarter. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
What does the money pay for?
The events and the people behind them: food and drinks, time for the hosts who run them, merch for the community, and keeping the dopest builder community going.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes. Stripe emails an invoice or receipt for every payment, and you can add your company's VAT ID at checkout.
